The Great Experiment

Wednesday, July 12, 2000: In today's edition of my own personal "Being John Malkovich"-style adventure, I'm celebrating my tenth day in Florida by finishing up yesterday's web pages and catching up with friends online.

Evening update

I was getting hungry around eleven or so... so I grabbed a sketchbook and a pencil and went to Bennigan's. Now I'm stuffed and I'm reminded of how well I still can't draw. (But I'll get better at it!)

Lessons I've learned out here so far:

• I can throw myself into the middle of a great unknown, and make friends out of complete strangers, and good friends out of friends.
• I can keep myself infinitely amused with nothing more than a laptop computer, a net connection, a digital camera, and a Disney park pass.
• The lack of distractions such as my video games and my PC (no Starsiege Tribes here) makes me go out and accomplish more.
• No matter where I live or what I do, I always end up staying awake all night and sleeping until noon.
• I'm happy no matter what I'm doing, as long as I have friends around.
